The grounds of the old mansion house (sadly demolished in the 1950s) are now parkland open to the public to explore. In the 1830s the then owner of the estate created a lake and arboretum, a legacy which the Gray family have carefully conserved. The collection of trees around the lake has earnt it a place in the National Tree Collection of Scotland (
NTCS) and with a well maintained path it is one of the few significant tree collections in Scotland open to the public all year round. The collection of rhododendrons and the Snow drop carpets are other high lights at the right time of year!
Our Highland cows can be seen enjoying the scenery of the old mansion house gardens and often come over to check out the visitors!
